This is Sire’s fifth edition of this very popular book on worldview. The first edition, published in 1998, was voted as one of Christianity Today’s books of the year. The book is widely used in colleges and seminaries as the standard on an introduction to worldviews. It covers the worldviews of Christian theism, deism, naturalism, Marxism, nihilism, existentialism, Eastern monism, New Age philosophy and postmodernism. In this fifth edition, Sire has included a new chapter on Islam. A great companion to this book is Sire’s Naming the Elephant, which describes in detail Sire’s standard defintion worldview.
